The paillons are stamped out of extremely thin sheets of 18k gold, then laid over the blue enamel 'sunburst' background, and on to extra heavy solid gold cufflink plates. A protective glaze is applied over the top and then polished to provide a high gloss finish. They are a unique pair of links and will never be re-made.
